    Construction of road network in the western regions--high-speed passenger transport will come to the golden period of the development.In the background of the increasingly severe world financial crisis of 2008, Chinese Government has introduced some measures to speed up the construction of roads, airports and other major infrastructures, and improve the highway network, by which the passenger transport in the western regions has a bright prospect. The second and third grade passenger transport markets have a bright prospect and in 2009 the rural passenger transport market will be a heated market with a strong demand for buses. With the increase of peasant income, peasant demand of traveling will also increase, which will increase the road passenger traffic and the demand for road buses in rural market. With the further perfection of rural infrastructure, the new bus routes will continuously appear and the need for buses will also increase.

    It is estimated that up to 2012 and within 3 years the town access rate will amount to 100 percent, town smooth rate 75 percent, village access rate 80 percent and village smooth rate 35 percent, and village smooth rate is strived to amount to no less than 55 percent before 2012 around the whole Chongqing Municipality, will make Chongqing list in the first place among the western provinces, will continuously popularize rural passenger transport, expand the market capacity and spur the strong demand for bus replacements.

    Strong Demand for Gas Buses

    The western regions enjoy the abundant natural gas resources and with the increasing maturity of natural gas vehicle technology, natural gas provides the resource guarantees for the development of gas buses. With the strong support of national policy and the further improvement of new energy bus technologies, the new energy bus will be a highlight.The southwest region is rich in natural landscape resources but their development needs to be improved.
